THE AUTHOR

J. J.  Preyer, born in Steyr, Austria, in 1948.

Literary publications since he was 14.
Studies of German and English at Vienna university. 

1982 organizer of an evening in commemoration of Austrian author Marlen Haushofer, who, almost forgotten at that time, comes into public focus again with the help of Viennese journalist Hans Weigel.
Articles for  “Klex“, a kids' journal published
by Peter Michael Lingens.
In 1996 Josef Preyer founded Oerindur publishing house for "digestable" literature and crime fiction.

Enrica von Handel-Mazzetti (1871–1955) belongs to the most important

Austrian female writers

at the beginning of the 20th century.

From 1905 to 1911 she lived

in Steyr where she wrote

three literary works

which deal with the history

and the inhabitants of the old town -

the ballad "Das deutsche Recht",

the novel "Die arme Margaret"

and the trilogy "Stephana Schwertner".

Handel-Mazzetti looks back

into the past of Steyr,

particularly at its religious

conflicts and fights in the 17th century.
